The report claims that Real were keen to allow Diaz to leave on a temporary basis in order for him to gain first team experience.
But the 20-year-old and his father Sufiel, who acts as his agent, decided that he would be better off staying at the Bernabeu.
The decision has backfired on Diaz so far, with Eden Hazard, Gareth Bale, Lucas Vazquez and Vinicius Junior all ahead of him in the pecking order.

AS says that Diaz is a player Zidane ‘loves’ and the midfielder remains hopeful that he will be able to work his way into the side as the season goes on.
